Now that I’m 90, I’ll tell you what I regret the most… In the naivety of youth, one never looks ahead.. A youthful person should reflect seriously on the character of the person they are going to marry.. and be certain that this person is going to treat you kindly and respectfully all your married life.

People who advise young people, “follow your dreams” or “do what you love and the money will follow” are being ridiculous. It’s a negotiation. You can’t seriously expect society to pay you for whatever you want to do, because it just doesn’t work that way
